End-of-Day Register Reconciliation
Match your physical cash count to the system's expected cash total and identify any overages or shortages.
What You'll Learn
- How to run a register reconciliation at the end of a shift or day
- How to enter your physical cash count and see the variance
- How to confirm and submit the reconciliation
Before You Begin
- You need the متقدم (Advanced) plan to access register reconciliation
- The register for the day must have been opened with an opening float
Register Reconciliation requires the متقدم (Advanced) plan.
Step 1: Go to Reports > Sale Register Reconciliation
At the end of the day (or at the end of a register session), from the left sidebar click Reports, then click Sale Register Reconciliation.
Step 2: Select the Register and Date
Use the dropdowns to select the register and the date you are reconciling.
Step 3: Review the System Totals
The report shows:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Opening Float | Cash loaded into the register at the start of the session |
| Total Sales | All sales recorded by the register for the session |
| Expected Cash | Opening float + cash sales total |
| Card Payments | Total collected via card (excluded from cash count) |
| Other Payment Methods | Any other payment methods processed |
Step 4: Enter the Physical Cash Count
Count the physical cash in the register drawer. Enter the total in the Physical Cash Count field.
Step 5: Review the Variance
Point calculates the variance automatically:
- Overage — physical cash is more than expected (cashier received extra)
- Shortage — physical cash is less than expected (possible error or missing cash)

A zero variance means the cash drawer matches the system exactly.
Step 6: Confirm and Submit
Review the figures, then click Confirm (or Submit) to save the reconciliation record. The reconciliation is logged and can be reviewed later.
The daily Close Register action in the POS (closing out the register at end of shift) feeds data into this reconciliation report. Always close the register properly before leaving.

Summary
Register reconciliation is the end-of-day process of counting physical cash and comparing it to what the system expects. Point calculates the variance automatically once you enter your cash count. Overages and shortages are flagged clearly. This feature requires the Advanced plan and works in conjunction with the Close Register action in the POS. Regular reconciliation protects against cash errors and deters theft.
