Stock Counts & Audits
Physically count your inventory and let Point calculate and apply the difference between what the system expects and what you actually have on the shelf.
What You'll Learn
- What a stock count order is and why it matters
- How to create a new stock count for a branch
- How to enter physical quantities and submit the count
- How Point adjusts inventory based on the discrepancy
Before You Begin
- Stock Count Orders require a Starter (ابتدائي) or Advanced (متقدم) subscription plan
- You must be logged in as an Owner or a user with inventory-management permissions
- Schedule your count at a low-traffic time — sales made while a count is in progress may affect the final discrepancy calculation
Stock Count Orders require a Starter (ابتدائي) or Advanced (متقدم) subscription plan. If you are on the free plan, upgrade in Settings > Subscription to unlock this feature.
Step 1: Go to Stock Count Orders
From the main navigation, go to Inventory (or the Stock Control section in the sidebar) and click Stock Count Orders. The list of past and pending counts appears.

Step 2: Click Add Stock Count
Click the Add Stock Count button to open the new stock count form.
Step 3: Select the Branch
Choose the branch you want to count from the Branch dropdown. Each stock count applies to one branch at a time. If you have multiple branches, create a separate count for each.
Step 4: Add Products to Count
Search for and add each product you want to include in this count. You can add:
- Individual products by name or barcode search
- All products in a category by filtering and bulk-adding
For each product added, Point shows the system quantity (what it expects based on sales and purchase history).

Step 5: Enter Physical Count Quantities
Go through your physical inventory and for each product row, type the actual quantity you counted in the Physical Count field. Take your time — accuracy here is what makes the audit useful.
Step 6: Submit the Count
Click Submit (or Save) when all quantities have been entered. Point calculates the discrepancy for each product:
- Positive discrepancy — you have more on the shelf than the system recorded (e.g. a sale was missed or a return was not logged)
- Negative discrepancy — you have less than the system recorded (e.g. theft, damage, or an unrecorded sale)
Step 7: System Adjusts Inventory
After submission, Point automatically adjusts the stock level for each product at the selected branch to match your physical count. The adjustment is recorded in the stock count order for future reference and audit purposes.
Summary
Stock count orders let you reconcile your physical inventory against Point's system records. You select a branch, add the products you want to audit, enter what you physically counted, and submit — Point does the math and updates stock levels automatically. Regular stock counts help catch shrinkage, data-entry errors, and system discrepancies before they become larger problems.
